Welcome to The PDA website

Welcome to the Home Page of Private Doctors of Australia and to the world of medical politics. Private Doctors of Australia Ltd (PDA) is the only free market medical organization in Australia. Established in 1968 as the General Practitioners' Society in Australia (GPSA), PDA has been the only medical body to consistently oppose the involvement of government in the practice of medicine. PDA is not aligned with any political party and receives no financial assistance either from government or from any political party.

This site has recently been re-vamped to provide for the real-time posting of comments and articles on current problems in health care delivery. Some of this content will ultimately be archived to join the large number of articles previously published in the now discontinued Australian Private Doctor. In some instances the sum of the primary article or letter and the associated comments will form the basis of submissions made by PDA to regulatory authorities.
